Inspiration is an endless source of extraordinary inventions. A muse knocks on peoples' doors in different fields. However, sometimes inspiration can blur the frontiers, awakening the most brilliant minds in one field to make the most magnificent creations in another. This happens, more often than not, in the world of fashion and the art of perfumery. Many a designer has been captivated by different scents, and these have served as inspiration for them to get into the wonderful world of perfumes. Today at Best Perfumes Miami, we want to showcase a small but representative sample of the world of brand perfumes
created by famous fashion designers.
Coco Chanel was the first fashion designer to launch a perfume associated with her brand: Chanel No. 5. This floral aldehyde fragrance was born from her idea of creating a powerful scent that smelled of a woman. It was initially for her personal use, but she decided to sell it in the end. Chanel No. 5 turned out to be one of the bestselling fragrances of all time.
Carolina Herrera, a Venezuelan fashion designer, has also successfully explored the perfumery universe, and CH's Eau de Parfum
Sublime is a great example. Sublime is a chypre floral fragrance that blends spontaneity and sensuality. It has head notes of bergamot and passion flower, heart notes of rose and orchid, and base notes of patchouli and leather. It has a joyful, enchanting, and fun smell created to honor sensual, sophisticated, passionate, feminine women with a sense of humor.
Another fashion designer that has entered the perfumery business is American designer Donna Karan. One of her most famous fragrances is DKNY Be Delicious. This is a fresh, vibrant mix of fruits, flowers, and woods that comes in the well-known green apple shaped bottle. This delightful fragrance is inspired by the dynamic and fresh city of Manhattan.
Giorgio Armani is one of the most influential fashion designers worldwide! He, too, has become enamored by the world of perfumes. In 2015, he reinvented one of his most successful creations, launching Acqua di Giō Profumo. This aromatic fragrance features a blend of aquatic and woody notes to achieve that sophisticated and masculine style. This creation from the Italian house represents the fusion of sea waves and volcanic rocks. It has aquatic top notes complemented by bergamot, heart notes of thyme, sage, and geranium, and base notes of patchouli and incense.
Earlier this year, the latest member of the Code line made its appearance: Code Profumo. This spicy oriental fragrance is inspired by the perfect Giorgio Armani tux, the ideal outfit for sensual encounters. Its vibrant aroma was created with the seductive man in mind. It has top notes of green apple, cardamom, and green mandarin, as well as heart notes of orange blossom, nutmeg, and lavender and base notes of Tonka bean and leather. These ingredients were originally the main ingredients of Armani Code, and now come perfectly complemented with the warm and intense smell of amber.
Another perfume born at the heart of the world of fashion is J'adore. The House of Dior created a fragrance filled with exquisite flower aromas that blend harmoniously to pay homage to the wonderful gifts of nature. Nature fascinates the company's founder, Christian Dior. This fragrance was conceived to represent absolute femininity and sophistication. The J'adore woman knows exactly what she wants, is confident, and lives her passions intensely.
